New Energy for the Future - 1358 Words
New Energy for the Future For years man has relied on energy in order to be successful in life. The industrial revolution relied on coal for the new inventions brought into the world. Life as has never been the same since then. However since that time, there has been little done to improve on energy efficiency and humans still primarily rely on fossil fuels for energy. For over a hundred years the Earth has become more polluted and dirtier than ever before. Now, with new, innovative technology there is an opportunity to change that and to rely on renewable, cleaner sources of energy. The main source of energy for the world should be alternative energy instead of energy from fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are energy that is in the form ofâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦CO2 is one the gases in the greenhouse gas family and with ââ¬Å"a stronger greenhouse effect [it] will warm the oceans and partially melt glacier and other ice, increasing sea levelâ⬠(Climate Change). As humans continue to emit greenhouse gas es into the air it is inevitable that sea levels will raise, temperatures will increase throughout the globe, and ultimately change the climate drastically damaging many ecosystems and impacting the way in which humans live on Earth. Many make the argument that the reason fossil fuels are the primary source of energy is due to their density amount of energy, but there is another source of energy that has energy even more dense than fossil fuels. Nuclear energy is an alternative source of energy that holds great amounts of energy and is one of the future sources of energy for this world. ââ¬Å"Nuclear energy is energy in the nucleus (core) of an atom. There is enormous energy in the bonds that hold the nucleus together. Energy is released when those bonds are brokenâ⬠(Uranium). Unlike a chemical reaction with fossil fuels, nuclear reactions create an even greater amount of energy than fossil fuels. ââ¬Å"Nuclear energy can be used to make electricity, but first it must be rel eased it can be released from atoms in two ways: nuclear fusion and nuclear fissionâ⬠(Uranium). Nuclear energy already provides 1/5 of all the energy in the U.S.,Show MoreRelatedRenewable Energy Future For New York1825 Words à |à 8 PagesRenewable energy has been a controversial topic for many people. People are either for it or against. Renewable energy seems to be the new energy for the future. WWS should help reduce fossil fuel, thus helping reduce global warming and creating a better future for tomorrow. However, there are major challenges to this such as cost, scarcity of materials, and other lack of other resources. We should use WWS because its benefits outweigh the negatives. ââ¬Å"Stanford Researcher maps out alternative energy futureRead MoreEnergy Costs687 Words à |à 3 PagesEnergy costs There are various energy sources available in the world today. These are either renewable sources or non-renewable sources. Some of the non-renewable sources include coal, oil, and nuclear fuel while renewable resources are solar energy, wind power, biomass, geothermal wave and tidal power, hydropower and so on. Cost-supply and uncertainty are usually quite asymmetric when it comes to the energy industry and any other industry in the world. The paper will look at the future of energyRead MoreThe Fuel Free Energy For The Future1485 Words à |à 6 PagesAmerica faced a major energy crisis, but is America in the middle of another one without even knowing it. In order to come up with a solution for the future, the current US energy situation, possible solutionsRead MoreThe Future Industry in Energy: Dropping the Concept of Nuclear Energy1209 Words à |à 5 PagesThe Future Industry in Energy: Dropping the Concept of Nuclear Energy At the start of the mid 1950ââ¬â¢s, the world was introduced to a new, alternative source of power that would revolutionize the energy industry; this power became known as nuclear energy. Since that time, nuclear energy seemed to pave the way in efficiency and supply power to countless cities around the globe. However, the past has shown that there are many major disadvantages to using nuclear energy. Today, many individuals believeRead MoreA New Product Introduced By Company1289 Words à |à 6 PagesA new product introduced by company always impacts its existing products of same or similar category. The power from the sun is what we call solar power. Solar power is the energy that comes from the sun as light and heat energy, and then it is later converted into electrical energy through solar panels (Nelson, 2008). This kind of power is completely free, right? Why should we put a lot of expense on other sources of energy, when there is a complete free and healthy power? It is evident that solar energy is a healthy source of energy, which willRead MoreNuclear Energy Is Worth It?1663 Words à |à 7 Pagesdevelopment of nuclear energy, an amazing source of energy with some potentially lethal side effects.
